City Watch - Leicester Against Crime

City Watch Leicester Against Crime is a professional approach in dealing with shop theft and violent and disorderly behaviour that will result in a more appropriate response by the Criminal Justice system in dealing with the persistent criminals. City Watch is financed by business (Retail and the Licensing trade), and supported by the Police and is based on a proven policing approach in tackling major areas of crime. This is achieved by identifying the major criminals and focusing resources to deal with them.

It encourages the better use of information sharing which identifies the individuals who persistently steal from others and us, and use violence towards others. The information then allows a more targeted and focused response to catch and deter these offenders, by the business and Police.

By encouraging the reduction of crime by preventative methods and working closely with Police and Businesses we also help to reduce the fear of crime and consequently improves the environment for customers.
